UPDATES
January 16, 2025 Update:
We are past the darkest days of winter and the days are getting longer. The snow and cold will be with us a little longer but I hope that you were encouraged at Christmas and each day have a meaningful encounter with God. I am pleased to bring you the following updates:
Interim Executive Directors:
Kerry Lewis and Rilene Johnson have stepped forward to be our interim Executive Directors! Many of you know them well and we are so pleased they are coming aboard. They will be with us through the camping season. When we hire a new ED they will help them get settled and integrate with the team. Kerry and Rilene will be working together and are responsible for hiring, organizing, and operating camp this year. There will be lots of familiar faces volunteering alongside them.
Join us on staff this year!
We are looking for about 70 staff members to help fill important roles this summer! You can see the list on our website. Camp is a great opportunity for youth and young adults to develop ministry and leadership skills. In particular, we are looking for:
-
A permanent full-time Executive Director.
-
Seasonal Maintenance Director.
-
Core staff, cabin leaders, and support staff.
-
Head cooks and assistant cooks as well as volunteer boat drivers week to week.
Visit here or email info@kedlestongospelcamp.com to learn more about these opportunities.
2025 Camps:
Registration opens February 15. We are excited to welcome kids and families to our grounds. This year we are excited to offer the following enhancements:
5 family camp options:
-
Family Adventure Camp June 26 - 29: 3 nights/4 days in a slower-paced family-centric environment. Kids have their own morning chapel but stay in with adults to worship together in the evening service and there are many family activities in the day. Evening services end earlier for earlier bed times.
-
Family Camp 1, 2, & 3: a “traditional” family camp for all ages and family status. This is for everyone – singles, couples, and parents with kids. Kids and youth have their own morning chapels, kids have their own evening kids’ church, and evening services have an emphasis on experiencing God through worship, teaching, and altar ministry. The evening services run a bit later and there are more opportunities for kids age 12 and up to have night games and youth-focused activities. In the last few years Family Camp 1 and 2 have sold out quickly and we are offering a slightly shorter Family Camp 3 later in August. Dates are:
-
Family Camp 1: Sunday, July 20 - Friday, July 25.
-
Family Camp 2: Sunday, August 3 to Friday, August 8.
-
Family Camp 3: Sunday, August 17 - Wednesday, August 20.
-
-
Home Schoolers’ Camp: Wednesday, Sept 3 to Saturday, Sept 6. This was launched last year and is a great launch to the home schooling year for homeschooling families.
30amp power throughout the RV park:
Do you know you can bring your RV to family camp? Each RV spot now has 30 amp power – everyone can run their air conditioning!
Private shower stalls at Plainsview:
Family Camp accommodations are the Lakeside Cabins, Elim Lodge, Plainsview dorms, and Lakeridge cabins. Plainsview and Lakeridge use the shared washroom facilities near the Plainsview dorms. By June 2025 the renovations of private, larger shower stalls and new toilets, sinks and counters will be complete.
Financial update:
We are so pleased to partner with God in camp ministry. As a board of directors we hold out our open hands to serve and we ask people to partner with us – giving of their time, talent, and treasure. We know God takes care of his camp by working through individuals. We are very please to report through God’s provision we met our our $849,630 fundraising target. This allowed us to pay cash for the entire septic system replacement, RV park electrical upgrade, and 2024 operating expenses.
Thank you for your donations in 2024.
We are always looking for new donors – the mission of camp is to provide people a place to experience God through his spirit, his word, his people and his creation. Our aim is to have as many people attend camp as possible and we are doing this in the following ways:
-
High-quality programming, exceeding standards for leader to camper ratio with a 1:3 ratio for children’s camps and 1:6 for Senior/Junior Teen camps.
-
Offering subsidized camper fees for all camps. For a family of 4, donations subsidize $1292 of the cost. Families pay only $1108 of the $2400 cost of camp. For a 5-day youth camp the cost is $690 most campers are subsidized for $223/camper.
-
Upgrading facilities to ensure camp is inviting and comfortable.
Please consider donating by:
Lump sum gift:
Monthly giving
-
$225 to cover the gap between fees paid and actual cost for one camper
-
$1300 to cover that same gap for one family
If all 400 families connected to Kedleston gave an additional $50/month in pre-authorized giving, we would raise $240,000 over the course of a year, raising more than a third of the annual fundraising goal. Please consider being a monthly partner and set that up at https://www.kedlestongospelcamp.com/donate
